Trent Reznor Slams Grammys With A "Heartfelt F**k You" After Performance Cut-Off

Trent Reznor has voiced his extreme disappointment after his performance with Nine Inch Nails at last night's Grammy Awards was cut short by the ceremony's organisers. The NIN frontman had been playing live with his band, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham when the closing credits began to roll on the televised coverage, effectively cutting of the unique performance from millions of fans.

"Music's biggest night... to be disrespected. A heartfelt F**K YOU guys," a disgruntled Reznor tweeted after learning of the Grammys producers' decision to curtail the live coverage. Rock fans watching the show were similarly outraged and sent a barrage of tweets directed at the Grammys organisers. The supergroup had already instilled awe with a rendition of NIN's 'Copy of A' when the rock legends' performance was cut short mid-way through the recent QOTSA hit 'My God Is The Sun.'

Producers apparently pulled the plug as the show had already overrun it's allotted air time by 15 minutes, according to Rolling Stone. Instead of experiencing the end of the song, viewers were shown the end credits, shots of the awards' sponsors and a far-away shot of the stage. "Excuse me, but if Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Lindsey Buckingham, and Queens Of The Stone Age are closing a show, you don't roll the credits," tweeted one upset viewer.

Fans Also Expressed Their Anguish That The QOTSA-Featuring Group's Performance Was Curtailed.

This isn't the first time that the 48 year-old rocker has publically bashed the awards show, having tweeted "The Grammys make me hate music, and certainly everyone in the ass-licking music industry" in 2012. Nine Inch Nails were up for Best Alternative Music Album for their 2013 record Hesitation Marks but lost out to Vampire Weekend's Modern Vampires of the City.

Though the rock supergroup's performance was surely one of the many highlights of the glitzy, music star-filled evening, only Grohl actually took home a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song for the track 'Cut Me Some Slack' that he recorded with Sir Paul McCartney and the former members of Nirvana, Pat Smear and Krist Novoselic.
