Anyone In Here? 'The Voice' Undergoes Overhaul After Judges' & Presenters' Exodus

Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates have become the latest names to jump ship from the BBC talent show, The Voice. The presenters join the show's judges Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue who also revealed they wouldn't be signing up for a third series, despite the second season outperforming the first in ratings for its final episode.

The remaining judges Will.i.am and Tom Jones were also reported to have been considering an exit and underwent extensive talks with the show's bosses to negotiate a contract for a third stint. Kylie Minogue and Big Brother presenter Emma Willis have both signed up to be the new female faces on the show, in the wake of Willoughby and Jessie J's departure.

Following in the footsteps of her sister Dannii who judged on ITV's The X Factor, the Australian pop star has reportedly been offered £1 million to join the third series, according to The Daily Mail. She said of her new job: "I'm very excited to become a coach on The Voice. I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series."

Mother of two Holly said that her family was a large part of the reason she wouldn't be returning to the show. The presenter who was criticised for wearing a risqué lace dress on last series' finale said in a statement "After much consideration, I will not be returning for series three of The Voice UK[...]Finding the right balance between my work and family life is my priority and this has contributed to my decision. I look forward to watching the next series from my sofa, and I wish the whole team the best of luck."

Whereas Reggie Yates tweeted to announce his decision, writing "After 2 great years, I've decided not to be a part of series 3 of the voice. Best of luck to the team for the new series!" Emma Willis, married to Busted star Matt and former Big Brother presenter said of her upcoming arrival: "The Voice is an absolutely brilliant TV show with the unique ability to showcase and nurture amazing raw talent. I couldn't be more excited to be a part of it and I cannot wait to get started."

Though the second show's final episode outperformed the first, with viewing figures shy of 8 million, it has been revealed that the second season struggled with ratings with audience figures dropping from an average 9.21 million in 2012, to 7.65 million in 2013 against competition from Britain's Got Talent on ITV, reports BBC News.

However, Mark Lindsey, the BBC's head of entertainment commissioning spoke of the show's optimism for its third outing: "With two new coaches on board and our two new presenters it's going to really mix things up."

The Voice series 3 will return in January 2014, marking a much earlier launch than its previous April kick-off in a move to boost ratings. The fourth coach and the second presenter have yet to be announced for next year's series of The Voice.
