'Terminator: Genisys' will hopefully right the wrongs of 'Salvation'.
Terminator Salvation was a disaster. We know that, you know that, everyone knows that. In fact, it's a miracle that Warner Brothers managed to pull in $371 million given the storyline was completely incoherent.
Arnold Schwarzenegger did not appear in Terminator: Salvation - though he returns for next year's Genisys
Directed by the hapless McG, the movie starred Christian Bale and Sam Worthington and used time travel as a key plot element. It speaks volumes that Bale's now infamous on-set rant at director of photography Shane Hurlbut was the most talked about thing during the promotion of the movie.

Now, as the first trailer for Terminator: Genisys is released (featuring the welcome return of Arnold Schwarzenegger), Bale has spoken briefly about the problems with Salvation.
"I wish them [Genisys team] better luck then we had," Bale said during promotion of Ridley Scott's new movie Exodus: Gods and Kings. "It didn't for us. It was a shame. But everything was against us."
Christian Bale is currently starring in Exodus: Gods and Kings
Responding to speculation that he had been approached for Genisys, Bale said: "I didn't talk to anyone about it - I knew that we gave it a shot. I didn't work. I know the reasons for that. But no, wisdom is knowing when to walk away - but I wish them the best. It just didn't work."
Terminator: Genisys, set for release on July 1, 2015, stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor and Jason Clarke as John Connor. Paramount has announced that Genisys will form the first movie in a new trilogy with two sequels set for May 19, 2017 and June 29, 2018.
