Hall H at Comic-Con was treated to a short preview ahead of the new series
Details of the seventh and final season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ have been coming out of the San Diego Comic-Con. At the last of the show’s panels at the convention over the weekend, its creator Kurt Sutter made a number of revelations about the future of the show in addition to unveiling some exclusive teaser footage of the series.
Charlie Hunnam is the star of 'Sons of Anarchy', whose final season is due to air in September
Sutter played a brief montage of the show’s characters two weeks after the death of Tara Knowles, which was the final action of the sixth season. The clip, noticeably darker in tone to previous seasons, was applauded wildly by all those in attendance at the panel.
Sutter also revealed plans for a novelisation of the series. Due to be called Bratva, the novel should be released before the end of 2014, and will yet again add to the show’s mythology. It was also confirmed that there are plans for a prequel to the show, but that it is unlikely to go into production for a couple of years. Sutter is currently planning to start work on ‘The Bastard Executioner’ in early 2015.
‘Sons of Anarchy’ made its television debut back in 2008 on the FX channel, and while it’s not always received the critical acclaim that it has deserved in the past, has remained one of the most enduring dramas on US television. It depicts the lives of an outlaw motorcycle club operating out of a fictional town in California’s Central Valley and loosely rotates round the personal life of its vice president Jax, played by Charlie Hunnam.
