Taylor Lautner has been spotted on the streets of New York with Marie Avgeropoulos. It's not official but could this be the blossoming of a beautiful friendship which will make Twilight fans worldwide green with envy?

It's difficult to say but photographers at the New York Daily News caught the couple strolling around New York holding hands, cuddling and talking photographs on their mobile phones. 

The 21-year-old Twilight star is currently filming with 27-year-old Avgeropoulos in New York. His latest project, Tracers, is another action-chase movie in which a New York bike messenger (Taylor) is forced into the world of parkour (a military style kind of free running) to avoid the mafia. Along the way he bumps into a beautiful stranger (Avgerpoulos), according to IMDb. 

It could simply by emotions are running high from filming, however, with their chemistry off-screen it seems likely the pair will make it official.

Avgerpoulos has previously appeared in I Love You, Beth Cooper and numerous television shows including Fringe, Eureka and 90201. She is due to appear in The Hundred, a sci-fi series which will air on CW. 

It is not uncommon for actors to form relationships when their characters are getting closer onscreen. Lautner's co-stars in Twilight Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were together during the filming of the Twilight Saga; Brad Pitt met Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith and True Blood's Anna Pacquin and Stephen Moyer are now married. Will Lautner and Avgerpoulos join the ranks of celebrity couples who met at work?

Lautner and Averpoulo's Tracers is due to be released in 2014.
