Marion 'Suge' Knight was involved in a run-in with police in the early hours of Wednesday, 11 September, after he was pulled over for a minor traffic violation, after police suspected him of driving under the influence of drink or drugs. After passing a breathalyser test, the police called in his name and found that there was an outstanding warrant out for the rap mogul, who was promptly taken to the station for holding.

Knight's car was pulled over by cops on the outskirts of Beverly Hills in the early hours of Wednesday morning, having reportedly spotted it weaving in and out of the road lanes further up the road. He was tested to see if he had been drinking, but after passing the breathalyser, the cops found that Suge had an outstanding warrant notice after failing to appear at two scheduled appearances at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in June this year. He was taken to the local jail and placed in police custody until his $20,000 was paid, which it was a couple of hours later.

The co-founder of Death Row Records was found in violation of missing two court dates stemming back to incidents from 2010 and 2012 respectively. In 2010, the mogul was arrested for a traffic violation at an outdoor shopping centre in December and in 2012 he was pulled over by Las Vegas police for making an unsafe lane change, after which police found a small amount of marijuana in his car. He failed to show up at either of the court case he was ordered to attend to resolve these charges.

Marion is responsible for breaking the likes of Snoop and Tupac

Suge was one of the original rap capitalist to found a multi-million dollar industry on the emerging popularity of hip hop and it's emerging talents. He co-founded Death Row Records in 1991 and signed artists such as Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur. In 1997 he began a nine year stay in prison for probation violation, serving four years. In that time, he saw his business empire fall to ruins as Snoop and Dr Dre left the label and Tupac's death in 1996 left it without any bankable stars. Since his release from prison, at which point Death Row Records was bankrupt, Suge has had various run-ins with police and has struggled to regain his influence and wealth.
