It looks as though J.J Abrams is keeping his cards as close to his chest as is humanly possible, but some day soon, we’re going to need to know that Star Wars Episode VII cast, okay? Oscar Isaac is the latest rumored to be joining Adam Driver and ‘Attack the Block’s’ John Boyega in the high profile sequel.

Star WarsAre Ford, Hammil and Fisher all returning for more of this?

Isaac would be a great addition to the cast. He has shown great on-screen flexibility so far, playing the hard-headed, troublesome punk of a dad that went ahead and died to leave Cary Mulligan open to Ryan Gosling’s overtures in ‘Drive’, and most recently, his brilliant turn as Oscar Isaac, the self-loathing, selfish, quite-talented musician in the Coen Brothers’ ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ has attracted attention; although there won’t be a call for singing in Episode VII. At least we hope not.

The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit tweeted that Isaac had previously been in negotiations but dropped out due to a scheduling conflict with a theater commitment. Now, with Deadline’s report, it’s highly possible that those conflicts have been resolved, and Isaac may be about to take on his biggest role to date.

Star Wars Episode VIIC3P0 and R2D2 will be back

With an official announcement expected soon, this has certainly been one of the most eclectic rumor mills – not to mention most anticipated – in a long time. Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are all expected to reprise their iconic roles as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Lea respectively, while Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca and Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian will also be back. C-3P0 and R2-D2, of course, will also be present. What’s ‘Star Wars’ without them?
