You can always rely on Stan Lee to let us know what Marvel are doing behind closed doors. The legendary comic book writer , 91, was speaking at the Fan Expo Canada on Friday (August 29, 2014) when he let slip that the studio had begun working on a Black Panther movie.

Lee explained, "The chances are she will have her own movie because eventually all the superheroes are going to have their own movies. They are already working on Ant-Man, Doctor Strange and the Black Panther, and there are others I am not allowed to talk about."

Obviously we already knew about Ant-Man - that movie has already begun production in San Francisco with Paul Rudd - and we're pretty sure Joaquin Phoenix is about to sign on the dotted line for Doctor Strange, but Black Panther? That's a new one.

The movie is likely to form part of Marvel's Phase Three and as Cinema Blend report, it is believed that Ultron will travel back to Black Panther's homeland of Wakanda to pick up valuable resources in Joss Whedon's Avengers sequel Age of Ultron.

Black Panther, aka T'Challa, first appeared in Lee and Jack Kirby's Fantastic Four #52 in July 1966. He's recognised as the first black superhero in mainstream American comics, debuting before the likes of Falcon, Storm and Luke Cage. T'Challa is known for his superman senses, Olympic-level strength , speed, agility and genius-level intellect.

We heard rumors a couple of months ago that Get On Up star Chadwick Boseman was in talks for the project and after being quizzed on the Breakfast Club he said: "Ahhh, I don't know anything about that. Until the contract is signed, I don't know."
