Sandra Bullock's Intruder Charged With Felony For Burglary Attempt
The 49 year-old actress' alleged stalker was charged with "one felony count each of first-degree residential burglary, stalking and possession of a machine gun," on Tuesday (June 10th).
The 39 year-old man, who was arrested for breaking into the Los Angeles home of Sandra Bullock, has been charged.
The intruder, Joshua James Corbett, who broke into the 49 year-old actress' house in the early hours of Sunday morning (June 8th) while she was inside, faced his charges on Tuesday (June 10th).
Corbett has been charged with "one felony count each of first-degree residential burglary, stalking and possession of a machine gun," according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, via E!News.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department revealed that the loaded machine gun was found in Corbett's home after a search warrant was granted.
The local authorities responded to a 911 call and arrested the stalker, was described as a "hot prowler suspect," at approximately 6.30 a.m.
The burglary attempt came only hours after Bullock returned from reuniting with her former leading men, Matthew McConaughey, Keanu Reeves and Hugh Grant on Saturday (June 7th), who presented her with the Decade of Hotness Award.
On Monday (June 9th), Bullock was given a temporary emergency protective order against Corbett, which will be issued for five days only, according to an LAPD officer.
If the Academy-Award winning actress still wants Corbett to maintain a safe distance from her once the order expires, she will have to put in a request for a permanent restraining order with the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
It has still not been confirmed if the prowler was trying to stalk the Academy-Award winning actress or to try and steal her belongings, but it was previously reported that he had an "obsession" with her, by keeping a diary about the Hollywood beauty, law enforcement sources told 'Today'.
Prosecutors are asking Corbett's bail amount be increased from $50,000 to $185,000.
