He wrote “Yep … Avri Roel Downey joined the party @ 3:22 a.m. on November 4th … she’s 7 lbs even, spans 20 inches, and is accompanied by a variety of Susan’s traits that have seemingly overwritten my ‘junk DNA.’”

Like any proud and love-struck father, Downey is planning to take lots of photographs of his daughter. “Principal photography commenced 11-14 and will continue until she says, ‘Dad! You are embarrassing me … I’m 30, this has gotta stop.’”

The new baby is a sister for the couple’s first child, son Exton Elias, now two and a half years old. Downey also has a 21 year old son Indio from his previous marriage to actress/singer Deborah Falconer.

More: So, who leaked the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer? Downey’s career has gone from strength to strength in recent years.

He’s starred in three instalments of Iron Man, all of which took box offices around the world by storm. He’s only in one film released in 2014, however, the moderately-received drama The Judge released two months ago, in which he plays a defense attorney alongside Robert Duvall and Vera Farmiga.

All of this work has paid off, both in professional recognition and financial reward. Just last week, Downey received the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film from the Britannia / BAFTA panel, where he paid tribute to his wife. In the most recent Forbes list of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors (from June 2012 to June 2013) Downey was top, with an estimated $75 million in earnings.
