The incident took place during Quan's video shoot for 'Walk Thru', where he was joined by the Compton rapper Problem. His label Think It's A Game Entertainment told MTV News that Rich Homie is doing fine.

Quan is pretty new to the rap game, though featured on the cover of XXL's Freshman class issue recently.

In 2013, the Michigan State Spartans football team adopted Quan's track 'Type of Way' as an anthem. The rapper joined the team on the side-lines during the 100th Rose Bowl.
