Tarantino's lawsuit claimed that Gawker Media "made a business of predatory journalism, violating people's rights to make a buck. This time, they went too far. Rather than merely publishing a news story reporting that Plaintiff's screenplay may have been circulating in Hollywood without his permission, Gawker Media crossed the journalistic line by promoting itself to the public as the first source to read the entire Screenplay illegally."

At the time of the leak, he also stated, "I'm very, very depressed. I finished a script, a first draft, and I didn't mean to shoot it until next winter, a year from now."

"Yeah, we're going to be doing 'The Hateful Eight,'" according to IGN. He added, "We weren't sure about it, but I just decided just now."

The forthcoming movie is set in a post-Civil war Wyoming, and follows a group of dubious characters, including two competing bounty hunters, who are forced to seek shelter from a harsh blizzard. But these individuals soon find themselves wrapped up in a tale of mistrust and betrayal.
