Kate's younger sister began writing for the paper's Sport and Social column last September but after half a year and over thirty articles the Telegraph has washed its hands of the Reading-born brunette.

It has been speculated that in these austerity-tempered British times, Pippa's subject choices of cocktail making, sailing, oyster-sampling and roller-skiing didn't go down well with the average reader. Pippa hasn't commented publically on her ousting but by all accounts the younger Middleton daughter has more exciting things on her mind. Rumours have been buzzing for months that she and boyfriend Nico Jackson could be about to get engaged - or even imminently married - with children to follow soon after if the stories are to be believed.

Pippa will still be a contributor to upmarket supermarket magazine Waitrose Kitchen, and Vanity Fair magazine.
