Lily Collins isn’t just the daughter of Phil Collins. The stunning 25 year old actress and model began acting when she was just two years old, starring in the BBC series Growing Pains. Now sure, it may have been easier for her to break into the business because of her famous dad, but Lily has never been averse to hard work. When she was still just a teenager Collins began writing her own column NY Confidential for British mag Elle Girl, also contributing to Seventeen, Teen Vogue and the Los Angeles Times supplement magazines.

In 2007 Chanel picked her to wear one of their gowns to the Bal des Debutantes in Paris and in 2008 Spanish Glamour magazine chose Lily as their “International Model of the Year”, as well as featuring her on the cover. In 2009 she starred in The Blind Side, the film for which Sandra Bullock won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Collins played the daughter of Bullock’s character, Collins Tuohy. She has since gone on to star in Priest, alongside Paul Bettany, as well as playing Samantha in Stuck in Love, which she starred in with Bettany’s wife, Jennifer Connelly and Greg Kinnear.

In 2013 she played Clary Fray in science fantasy film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, on the set of which she would meet now ex-boyfriend Jamie Campbell Bower. The pair split just before the release of their movie, although they managed to keep it together and play nice at the red carpet events. The film received mainly negative reviews from critics; however, it has been announced that despite a 12% rating on metacritic site Rotten Tomatoes, there will be a sequel.  Collins is billed to reprise her role.

Most recently Lily has been in discussion to star in Seth Grahame-Smith’s parody movie Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. She is rumoured to star as the leading role, so we’re assuming that she’ll be playing Elizabeth Bennett. The film alleges to follow Austin’s original Pride and Prejudice story, although based in an alternate reality where zombies frequent the English countryside. We have mixed feelings about this one, it will either be a work of genius or horribly cringeworthy.

Lily recently admitted that the term ‘celebrity’ is one that is lost on her. She told Lucky magazine “I never understood the word “celebrity.” It was just part of my everyday.” We can imagine growing up in such a famous household that the celebrity world is just the norm for Lily, but we think with her promising career her dad Phil may have to get used to his daughter being the main attraction from now on.
