Pharrell Williams Begins To Shed 'Happy' Tears During Oprah Winfrey Interview
The 41 year-old music mogul became very emotional when Winfrey showed a clip of fans from around the world dancing to 'Happy.'
Pharrell Williams is very emotional about the effect his music can have on people.
The 41 year-old is definitely not afraid to show his real emotions as he broke down while being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey on Saturday night (April 12th).
The 60 year-old media mogul showed Pharrell a clip of fans from all corners of the globe doing the 'Happy Dance', and he quickly became overwhelmed after realizing the effect his hit song 'Happy' has had.
"I don't know why I'm crying!" Pharrell said laughingly, while wiping away tears from his face.
"It makes me cry, too!" Winfrey replied.
'The Neptunes' record producer has been in the music industry for over 2 decades, but it is only recently that he gained global recognition has has been able to maintain a positon on top of the music ladder.
During the hour-long interview, Pharrell opened up about experiencing his huge rise to stardom over the past several years, in which he received an Oscar nomination for 'Happy' and has taken home Grammys.
Last year also saw the 'Get Lucky' singer wed his longtime love Helen Lasichanh, who is the mother to their 4 year-old son Rocket.
With such a unique name, Oprah couldn't resist to ask Pharrell why they chose Rocket.
"In the same way the Indians named their children after a force or animal or element, we named him after a man-made machine that was meant to go up, meant to ascend," Williams explained, hoping his son goes on to do great things.
This past weekend, Pharrell also made his Coachella Music Festival debut, and was joined by an array of huge stars who he has collaborated with in the past, including Snoop Dogg, Nelly, P Diddy, Tyler the Creator, Busta Rhymes, and Gwen Stefani.
