One of the biggest problems with being able to post pictures and videos straight to the internet to be seen by armies of fans is that sometimes, those videos can be cringe-inducingly vile. Case in point, Katy Perry recently posted to Instagram a video of someone shoving a needle through her nose.

The video comes to us halfway through her Prismatic World Tour as she is currently in the second leg of the tour, traveling through the US. Throughout November and December she will visit Australia and New Zealand, before spending February and March of next year in Europe.

The video emerged with a caption reading "Last time I did this I was on my own with a safety pin & cube of ice @ 13. This time I thought it was best I left it to the pro's. Sorry mom (again)". The 29-year-old complains briefly about the pain, before the piercer asks her not to. While there's no blood, the video still stands as a gruesome testament to the glamorous lifestyle.

It seems likely that more social media hijinks are on the horizon for Katy Perry, although perhaps it would be better if they don't involve lengths of metal being driven through her flesh.
