Outkast Reforming? 2014 Tour Dates Could Be On Horizon
The rap unit are reportedly in talk to reunite for Coachella 2014.
Outkast may be ending their six year hiatus for a performance at California's Coachella in April next year, according to Billboard's multiple sources. One said that there had "definitely been 'some conversations'" between band members Andre 3000, Big Boi and the Coachella organisers, who are said to be keen to reunite the old school band for a comeback.
Big Boi Could Be Headed To Coachella For An Outkast Comeback Show.
A comeback in 2014 would certainly be very well timed: the year will mark the 20th anniversary of Outkast's debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, and would be a welcome surprise for fans of such classics as 'Hey Ya' and 'Rosa Parks.'
The hip hop duo went on an indefinite hiatus in 2006, allowing both members to pursue their solo careers with Big Boi releasing two critically acclaimed LPs and producing some of the next Modest Mouse album.
Meanwhile André has featured on Frank Ocean's 'Pink Matter' with both artists dropping verses on a remix of the same track. Dré, real name André Benjamin, also appears in the recently premiered Jimmy Hendrix biopic, All Is By My Side, in which he plays the legendary singer and guitarist.
Though Dre and Big Boi are still very much active, both together and solo, a one-off Outkast comeback wouldn't necessarily mean any new material from either of them with even slimmer chances of a new album. Speaking to GQ in February 2012, via Billboard, Andre 3000 said there were "no plans" for a follow-up to 2006's Idlewild. "The only thing I can really say is I'm going to get back to having fun," he added, cryptically.

If the pair did get back together for just one Coachella show, they would join other bands, such as Blur and The Stone Roses, who made the festival their only American concert date.
Representatives for Coachella and Outkast are yet to comment on the story.
