Ellie Goulding - On Her Third Week At The Top Of UK Charts, Ellie Goulding Announces First Arena Tour
Ellie Goulding is on the rise like never before.
Ellie Goulding, the 'Starry Eyed' singer who has enjoyed quite a lot of success in recent years as a staple in everyone’s private playlists, has finally landed her first UK number one and seems to be sticking to her guns this week. Goulding is poised to top the chart again this week with her single 'Burn.' 'Burn' is a the flagship track of Halcyon Days, a more comprehensive repackaging of her sophomore effort, Halcyon.
Goulding is no stranger to the festival circuit.
The singer’s unique vocal abilities in 'Burn' once again beat out Avicii’s 'Wake Me Up' to the top. According to Entertainmentwise, only 4,500 individual sales separate the two. 'Wake Me Up' spent another three weeks on top earlier this year, before being bumped from Number 1 by Miley Cyrus’s controversial party anthem 'We Can’t Stop.'
But arena crowds are an entirely different animal.
At such a high point, Goulding’s timing for announcing her first ever arena tour was practically perfect. The 26-year-old crooner will play three dates across the UK next year, according to the BBC. The mini-tour will kick off with a gig at Capital FM Arena in Nottingham on 5 March. Goulding will also perform at Echo Two in Liverpool's Echo Arena on 8 March and conclude the tour with a triumphant return to London at the O2 Arena on 9 March. The arena tour will kick off right after Goulding's nationwide round, which starts in October. Sounds like a hectic schedule for the chart-topper, but as for her fans, we imagine it’s been quite a long wait. Tickets for the tour go on sale on August 30.
The crooner has a packed year ahead of her.
