Now that the Academy Awards are over and done with for another year we can look forward to the new movies that are coming out in 2014! There’s a bunch of great films on the horizon, but here’s our top five that are coming out over the next couple of months.

Noah

Russell Crowe stars as Noah in a biblical epic about the building of the Ark and the flood. Noah looks like it will be packed full of some serious special effects, and Russell’s definitely got his serious acting hat on for the role. The star-studded cast includes Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone and Jennifer Connelly and is set to be released on March 28th.

Veronica Mars

Veronica Mars is all grown up! The teenage sleuth has moved on from her detective days and is trying to make it as a lawyer in New York City, that is until she’s roped back into her old ways to help out old flame Logan Echolls. Logan’s become mixed up in a murder case, and it looks like Veronica’s going to take it on herself to get him out of the trouble he’s gotten himself into. The Veronica Mars movie looks surprisingly sleek, maybe she’s the next Jason Bourne? Who would have thought! Veronica Mars comes out on March 14th, so not long left to wait now.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Who hasn’t loved all of the Marvel Comic offerings over the past couple of years? The next installment is Captain America: The Winter Solider which sees the Cap struggling to fit into the modern world he has found himself is, as well as coming up again super Soviet agent The Winter Soldier. Also starring Scarlett Johannson who will reprise her role as The Black Widow. Scarlett’s recently announced that she is expecting her first child, we wonder if she waited until she’d finished filming to become pregnant because that catsuit looks pretty restrictive!

Disney's Bears

We’re most excited about Disney Nature’s documentary Bears, which is due for release April 18th. Brimming with stunning nature shots,Bears follows a family of brown bears living in Alaska’s coastal mountains and shorelines. This movie looks positively heartwarming, we’ll definitely be taking a box of tissues along to watch this one!

Dom Hemingway

Jude Law is certainly getting a little out of his usual comfort zone in upcoming Dom Hemingway, which hit cinemas in the UK last year. Law whips out his best East Ender accent to play safe-cracker Dom Hemingway, who’s recently been released after serving 12 years in prison and is looking to get what is owed to him. Dom Hemingway will be in movie theaters on April 2nd, we're very much looking forward to seeing Law play a role that is so different to those he usually picks.

There are some great movies coming out in 2014, which ones are you most looking forward to seeing?
