Morrissey's record label Harvest Records has denied that the singer has been dropped, despite the former Smiths man telling fans that he's on the hunt for a new home. A post on Morrissey's site True To You stated that the singer and his label had parted ways.

The original post said: "Three weeks after the release of Morrissey's 'World Peace Is None Of Your Business' (#2 UK, #14 US), Capitol Records/Harvest have ended their relationship with Morrissey, as directed by label boss Steve Barnett. Morrissey is once again in search of a record label."

However, Billboard received a denial from Harvest who maintain that they have a two-album deal with Morrissey. The first album under that deal was the No.14 Billboard charting album World Peace Is None Of Your Business.

Asked for confirmation on the apparent split, a spokesperson for Morrissey said "no comment."

The news comes after Morrissey criticised his label, with the singer hinting "at public deception" in the music industry in a separate post on True To You.

"They must cut ties with the United King-dumb. I love Scotland, and I love the Scottish spirit and they do not need Westminster in the least."

He also added: "It would be a great help if Princess Anne gassed Jamie Oliver. He's killed more animals than McDonald's."
