So the latest celebrity feud happens to be between Miley Cyrus and Sinead O'connor, who have begun getting at each other's throats recently and airing all their dirty laundry over the internet. It started with a veiled compliment from Miley, which became words of advice passed down from Sinead, and now it looks like an actual feud, with insults and back chat and everything.

The pair differ somewhat...

For those of you who need catching up, the whole thing began with a Rolling Stone interview, in which Miley discussed her 'Wrecking Ball' video and how she modelled it on Sinead's 1991 video for 'Nothing Compares 2 U.' Having been the 'it girl' herself for a while, Sinead responded to the comparison with some friendly words of advice, warning the 20-year-old not to "prostitute" herself for the benefit of the music industry. Then things got nasty, because instead of acknowledging when someone was trying to be helpful, Miley decided to be a little twerp instead and sent out a few below the belt tweets.

After taunting Sinead with the above tweets, she then took it a step further and wrote, "Before Amanda Bynes there was..." to go with a picture of a series of tweets posted by Sinead about two years ago. Needless to say, Sinead wasn't best pleased with Miley's response to what look like genuine words of advice, and things have continued to get nasty.

"Miley… Really? Who the f*ck is advising you?" the 46-year-old wrote in a follow-up letter posted on her Facebook. "Because taking me on is even more f--kin' stupid than behaving like a prostitute and calling it feminism. You have posted today tweets of mine which are two years old, which were posted by me when I was unwell and seeking help so as to make them look like they are recent. In doing so you mock myself and Amanda Bynes for having suffered with mental health issues and for having sought help."

The letter goes on, and on for a bit longer, with Sinead describing Miley as an "anti-female tool of the anti-female music industry" and going on to recall how the tweets that were lampooned by Miley were in response to the Pope and Catholic Church, going on to write, "by mocking it you mock every child who suffered sexual abuse at the hands of priests and had it covered by the Vatican."

One thing is for sure, Miley's PR team are damn good at their job, and with the ball now in her court, this could get even messier. In case you didn't already know, given all the hype surrounding her, Miley has a new album out.
