Miley Cyrus Gives Away New Puppy Moonie Because "It's Just Too Soon"
The 21 year-old singer has given away her new puppy, which her mother bought in hopes of making the grieving process easier, because it is too soon after the tragic death of Floyd.
Miley Cyrus wasn't ready to move on from the death of her beloved dog, Floyd.
The 21 year-old singer was given a new puppy by her mother, Trish, to help with the grieving process.
But after owning the puppy, called Moonie, for just over a week, Cyrus decided that it was "too soon" to move on.
"Moonie, thank you for giving me so much love, comfort, & peace," she tweeted on Sunday (April 13th). "It's just too soon for me right now."
The 'Wrecking Ball' singer then explained that she was "scared" to care for another small puppy following the death of Floyd, so Moonie will now be homed with Cyrus' friend's mom.
After one of her 17.8 million followers asked her where Moonie was going, she explained: "My friends mom who has a tiny pup 4 him 2 play with Molly. After wht happened Im scared 2 have a tiny dog #moonieandmolly."
Floyd's tragic passing occurred on April 1st and Miley took straight to Twitter to announce the heart-breaking news.
The 'Come & Get it' singer also shared several photos of herself with Floyd and wrote: "I know I don't mean it but I wish he would've taken me with him, this is unbearable. What am I gonna do without him?"
Despite the tragic loss, Cyrus is still continuing her 'Bangerz' tour and paid tribute to her dead canine pal by singing the Fleetwood Mac track 'Landslide' at her recent Boston concert.
But after giving away Moonie on Sunday, she posted a pic of her other dog, MJ, with a stuffed toy resembling Floyd, the caption read "MJ & #floyd."
