Tom Cruise - Mark Wahlberg Attacks Actors Who Claim "My Job Was As Difficult As Being In The Military.'

Mark Wahlberg spoke out against actors who exaggerated their training for upcoming films. The actor may have been referring to Tom Cruise's recent comments in which he likened preparing for a role to be harder than training for the Olympics and as difficult as fighting in Afghanistan.

 Mark Wahlberg
Mark Wahlberg was not aware it was Cruise who made the comments.

The Ted actor appeared at the AFI Festival in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening (12th November) and responded angrily when questioned about his training regime for Lone Survivor, as TMZ reported. Wahlberg went on something of a profanity laden tirade in which he said: "For actors to sit there and talk about 'oh I went to SEAL training? I don't give a f**k what you did." He then proceeded to reference, indirectly, Cruise by saying "For somebody to sit there and say 'my job was as difficult as being in the military.' How f**king dare you, while you sit in a makeup chair for 2 hours."

He later continued by stating, once more possibly addressing Cruise, "I don't give a s**t if you get your ass busted. You get to go home at the end of the day. You get to go to your hotel room. You get to order your f**king chicken."

Cruise's comments were revealed last week when testimony was leaked online. The court documents are from a recent court case in which Cruise intends to sue two magazines (InStyle and Touch) for creating cover articles claiming he "abandoned" his daughter following his split from Katie Holmes.

Watch Mark Wahlberg in the movie trailer for Lone Survivor:

It appears he says, in his deposition, that his last job was "brutal" and "it feels like" being in Afghanistan. However Cruise then said, when questioned by the lawyer if he thought the two situations were the same, "Oh come on."

We contacted Tom Cruise's representation who forwarded us a statement from Cruise's lawyer Bert Fields. This statement reads:

"The assertions that Tom Cruise likened making a movie to being at war in Afghanistan is a gross distortion of the record. What Tom said, laughingly, was that sometimes "that's what it feels like." As the video shows, he and the lawyer were laughing at his answer, and, when asked in the next question if the situations were comparable, Tom said "Oh, come on," meaning of course not.

Tom is a staunch supporter of our troops and would never say that making a movie was even remotely comparable to fighting in Afghanistan."

It seems Wahlberg may well have read the statement too as he backtracked on his comments. He was caught by a photographer who filmed him saying "I love Tom Cruise" and he "didn't know that it was Tom Cruise that said that."
