The diva made sure the 2013 'Christmas at Rockefeller Center' was one to remember.
Mariah Carey made sure that this year's Christmas at Rockefeller Center was truly special last night when she performed at the 81st Annual Tree Lighting, aired on NBC. Mariah's performance may have been pre-recorded from the day before but this didn't affect the full festive impact of her dazzling performance.
Mariah Made Sure All Eyes Were On Her At The Christmas Tree Lighting.
Now that the arm injury that has kept her in a sling for the past few months seems to have healed, Mariah pulled out all the stops to shine as brightly as the Christmas lights that were illuminated all around her. The 43 year-old diva, whose 1994 Christmas album is a classic, performed wearing two equally sumptuous ball gowns.

Whilst she sang 'Joy To The World' she wore a bejewelled white dress with long silk gloves and silver detailing that made her look as sparkling as fresh snow. The second gown harked back to the hit Christmas single music video for 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' in that her long red dress, black leather gloves and white fluffy shrug made Mariah look like Mrs. Christmas!
Even her husband, Nick Cannon, said that when it comes to Christmas his starlet wife is unrivalled. "My wife is the empress of Christmas," Nick told Chicago Tribune in November. "She is Mrs. Christmas. She puts the M.C. in Merry Christmas."

But what do you buy for the fashionista who has everything? Luckily, Nick likes to be more thoughtful and less materialistic: "She can pretty much go buy whatever she wants. The more thoughtful it is, the better the reaction. I'll put together a video of the year or a Christmas video and edit stuff together with music in the background. I had one of her favorite artists paint a picture of her. That type of stuff goes over pretty well," he said.
Carey was joined in performance during the New York Christmas tree lighting by similarly fabulous songstresses, including Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, and Jewel.
