Madonna - Madonna Insists Instagram Racial Slur Was A 'Term Of Endearment' In Apologetic Statement

Madonna is seriously needing a lesson in how to use social media as she is forced to defend herself once again from her latest inflammatory comment on Instagram.

Madonna maintains she's 'not a racist'

The popstar has insisted that she is 'not a racist' after backlash over her use of the N-word in a recent post on Instagram. She had posted a picture of her son Rocco Ritchie in a boxing match accompanied with the caption, 'No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out! #disnigga (sic)'. After attacks from her followers, she later deleted and re-uploaded the picture with the words, 'Ok let me start this again. #get off of my d*** haters!' - hardly a better comment.

Now the star has apologised for her actions and issued a statement to the Associated Press. 'I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N word on Instagram', she explained. 'It was not meant as a racial slur. I am not a racist. There's no way to defend the use of the word. It was all about intention. It was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is white. I appreciate that it's a provocative word and I apologize if it gave people the wrong impression.'

Earlier this year, she was slammed for posting a picture of Rocco clutching a bottle of alcohol when he is only 13-years-old. She later insisted that he had merely been posing with the booze, not drinking it.
