Macaulay Culkin's "Pizza Underground" Chewed Up At Dot To Dot Festival

Macaulay Culkin’s band, the oh-so-hilariously named Pizza Underground, got a chilly reception at last weekend’s Dot to Dot Festival in Manchester and Bristol. According to the New York Daily News, the band members were booed throughout their entire set and eventually driven offstage by the unruly and downright aggressive crowd. 33-year-old Culkin’s comedy band specializes in remaking popular songs to celebrate the miracle of pizza. They’ve mostly been a novelty hit at festivals thus far, but attendees at Dot to Dot just weren’t impressed with the music.

Festival goers did not appreciate Culkin and his band messing with classic songs.

"Why are you throwing those?" the Home Alone star reportedly asked when the band dodged pints of booze being thrown from the crowd after performing a cover of Lou Reed’s Perfect Day, which they redid as It’s a Pizza Day.

The band only managed to get through three songs, before the crowd drove them offstage.

"That's the end of the show," Culkin said, before walking off. "Goodnight."

The Pizza Underground tend to get a much better reaction at their festival appearances.

The Dot to Dot festival organizers defended the band and issued the following statement, condemning the crowd’s reaction.

"After barnstorming sets at both Dot to Dot Manchester and Dot to Dot Bristol," they said. "it's such a shame that some members of the crowd had to ruin what was set to be an excellent show."\

"Hopefully they'll get to play in Nottingham again soon," they added, per the Daily News.
