The show (or film festival) must go on, even without Lindsay Lohan in attendance.
Lindsay Lohan seems to have come out, or at least to be trying to come out of her downward spiral these days. With a recent trip to rehab, an interview and documentary about her life by Oprah and a new movie premiering at the Venice Film Festival, things are looking up. Speaking of VFF, however, it’s obvious the star hasn’t completely kicked all her bad habits, as she was apparently. At The Canyons festival premiere, Lohan was, quite conspicuously, a no-show.
Lindsay Lohan is on her way back up, but not entirely without a hitch.
The film’s director Paul Shrader, took a lovingly annoyed attitude towards his lead’s disappearing act at the festival and he made a rather cavalier comment about it, saying: "For the last 16 months I've been hostage, by own choosing, to a very talented but unpredictable actress. She was supposed to be here today, she said she would be, but she is not.”
All my love and respect to Paul Scrader, @jamesdeen @braxtonpope http://t.co/Nj8EWxElpf

The actress in question provided no explanation for her disappearing act, however she did send a good luck tweet to Shrader and her co-stars.
"I wish I could be there to celebrate with you in Venice," she wrote. "Paul Schrader, @braxtonpope, @JamesDeen could not have done it without you."
Perhaps Oprah might provide an explanation in her upcoming OWN docu-series documenting Lohan’s fall from grace and her apparent efforts to get clean and reclaim her acting career. Until then, it looks like the starlet will just remain one big questionmark.
Unpredictable as ever, Lindsay still remembered to wish her co-stars good luck at the festival.
