Lego Movie, Lego Simpsons Episode, Lego Advert Breaks - Have We Lego of Our Senses?
We've all gone Lego mental.
As if an entire movie about those infamous building bricks wasn’t enough, an entire episode of The Simpsons will be presented in a Lego aesthetic. Add to that an entire ad break reimagined in a Lego style, and you’ve got yourself a full-blown pandemic. The hysteria kicked off with the – admittedly critically acclaimed – movie, which set box offices alight.

Now, Fox have announced an all-Lego episode of everyone’s favourite cartoon family, The Simpsons, in which Homer wakes up to find the whole town has been turned into the brick-based toy. The logline of “Brick Like Me” – which celebrates 25 years of the animation - asks: “Can he ‘put together’ how he got there and somehow figure out how to get home before he is stuck in a world of bricks forever?”
Other episodes to mark the show's 25th season include a Halloween special directed by Hellboy film-maker Guillermo del Toro and a collaboration with Simpsons creator Matt Groening's other series Futurama. The Simpsons Lego episode will air in the UK and US on 4 May.
The hysteria surrounding the Danish building bricks spread to ITV, who were part of an entire ad break re touched to bear a Lego appearance. You can watch the whole break below.
"To support the launch of a movie in which the whole world is made of Lego bricks, we came up with the idea of transporting ITV viewers there," said David Wilding, head of planning at media agency PHD, which came up with the strategy for Warner Bros.
"The Lego ad break is an inspired and truly innovative media first, one the that captures the very essence of The Lego Movie and does a brilliant job of amplifying this eagerly-awaited title," said Alex Lewis, vice-president and director of marketing at Warner Bros.
