Lance Bass from N Sync has gotten engaged! The ex-boy band member, who teamed up with his former bandmates at the MTV Video Music Awards last weekend for a one-off performance, got down on one knee and ask his boyfriend Michael Turchin for his hand in marriage, and Turchin said yes!

Lance Bass & Michael Turchin are engaged!

The proposal and positive reply was reported on Sunday (1 September) by Us Weekly, who spoke with a number of sources close to the pair. Turchin may have also hinted that the proposal happened when he tweeted on Saturday; "Happiest guy in the world," although neither he nor Bass have commented officially on the alleged proposal. A source told Us Weekly, "They're such a great couple, everyone is so happy for them. Their friends and family are thrilled."

Bass may have confirmed the proposal without having to give any official comment however, tweeting "He said YES!! Love this man" along with an Instagram picture of Turchin wearing a wedding band.

The pair have been together since December 2011 and Bass even got in touch with Turchin's parent to ask permission for his hand in marriage before the proposal. Bass publicly came out as a gay man in 2006 following the split of N Sync and since then he has been an active campaigner for gay rights as well as being active in the gay scene, dating The Amazing Race winner Reichen Lehmkuhlin the same year, before going on to date Brazilian model Pedro Andrade and New York-based hairdresser Ben Thigpen before he was linked to his now fiancé.

We couldn't be happier for the two of them, so here's wishing them a thoroughly happy life together as a married couple.
