Nathan was injured when the driver of the band's tour bus was forced to stop suddenly when a pedestrian stepped out into the road. Elder brother Caleb - who is also the lead singer of the band- said that Nathan is feeling better three weeks on from the accident, and "He has this protective gear that he's wearing that's there to help him."

The band are playing the second night of the Budweiser Made In America festival, which takes place in Philadelphia. Other artists playing over the weekend include Iggy Azalea and Kanye West. They cancelled two weeks of shows following the accident, and were meant to return to the stage on Thursday, but decided to delay their comeback to give Nathan more time to heal. Following the show, they will continue their U.S tour, which ends in October.

The band have been around since 1999, but achieved mainstream success in 2009 with the smash hit 'Use Somebody' which came from their fourth album Only by the Night. Comprised of brothers Jared, Caleb, Nathan and Matthew, the group released their sixth album, Mechanical Bull, last year, which went to the top of the UK Album Charts and came in at Number 2 on the Billboard Hot One Hundred, as well as being nominated for a Grammy.
