Questlove Is Kings of Leon's New Drummer (Sort of)
Kings of Leon called upon the percussive talents of Questlove on 'The Tonight Show'.
Kings of Leon have been forced to axe nine concerts following a tour bus crash in Boston, Massachusetts, but they duly honoured their booking on the Jimmy Fallon show Tuesday night (August 12, 2014). Following the hospitalization of drummer Nathan Followill, who suffered broken ribs in the crash, the band drafted in an emergency replacement for the TV spot.

Filling in on percussion was Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, drummer and bandleader of the 'Tonight Show' house-band, The Roots.
"Today I'm A Leon! (Or a Qing?)" Thompson said via Instagram on Tuesday.
"A big thank you to @questlove for filling in for me tonight on @jimmyfallon I'm looking forward to his bubble(gum) blowing skills. #kingforaday" said Followill on Twitter.
The band's tour bus came to a sudden halt after a pedestrian walked out into the road over the weekend. Followill was treated for broken ribs and doctors advised him to stop drumming to recover properly. The band cancelled nine shows, including in New York, Ohio and New Hampshire. The band will resume their trek in New Jersey on August 28, 2014.
Despite his hospitalization, Nathan has still be active on Twitter over the past couple of days, tweeting, "Saw a tweet that said I had died. Not quite, but it feels close. Who knew that you use your ribs for EVERYTHING."
"Thanks again for all of the well wishes. Best family, friends & fans in the whole wide world," he added.
