Kim Kardashian Wedding Dress, Yay Or Nay?

The Kimye wedding is finally done and dusted so we can all stop speculating about what Kim’s dress is going to look like. Instead, we can talk about it and critically analyse what we thought. This is really important stuff, you guys.

So, Kim’s Givenchy wedding dress was allegedly inspired by the Alexander McQueen gown worn by the Duchess of Cambridge when she married Prince William. We're sure that Kate is thrilled to hear what an inspiration she is to Mrs. Kardashian-West.  Designed by Riccardo Tisci, Kim’s extravagant dress was far more modest than anyone had ever imagined it would be. Kim’s track record doesn’t exactly scream modesty, but then again, she is a mother/fashion icon these days and her dress did reflect this shift.

The dress was high-necked, covering Kim’s ample bosom, which she often chooses to display. Triangle cutouts around the waist area revealed Kim’s toned physique. while the see-through sleeves and back gave just enough away without being too “Kardashian” - if you know what we mean. The long lace train certainly echoed the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress, while Kim’s loose flowing hair also had a Middleton-vibe going on. At Kim’s last wedding to Kris Humphries, which famously lasted just 72 days, the reality TV star had her hair scraped back while she wore a corseted gown with her cleavage on full display. Her most recent wedding look couldn’t have been more different, although we imagine that’s sort of the idea.

The wedding took place in Florence, Italy, before Kim and Kanye jetted off to glamorous…Ireland. Erm, no comment.  The dress alone cost over $2 million, we wonder how much Kim has spent on wedding dresses in her lifetime?  Probably more than most small countries earn in a year.

While Kim may have come across all conservative on her big day, some of her white ensembles over recent months haven’t been quite so modest. Even the Lanvin wedding dress that she wore on the April cover of Vogue magazine was more revealing, while she recently stepped out in Paris wearing a plunging cream silk jumpsuit.

Last year Kim wore a particularly daring white two piece to her birthday party, so we know it’s not an age thing that prompted her to cover up at her wedding.
