Khloe Kardashian Receives Heavy Backlash For Wearing Native American Headdress

Khloe Kardashian thought wearing a Native American headdress at North West's first birthday bash was just some harmless fun.

But before long, the 29 year-old found herself at the center of a backlash from the online community.

Khloe shared a photograph via Instagram of herself sitting next to a makeshift tepee, sitting on the grass, pretending to meditate while wearing an Indian Chief feathered headdress.

"Ray of clouds. Chirping of birds. Gurgling of water. Granting desire. One with water. #Kidchella my first Coachella," read the snaps caption.

Khloe's choice of head wear immediately sparked an outrage amongst her followers, with many letting her know how they felt.

One disgruntled user wrote, "When will people stop f--king around with things they don't know anything about. Now the little Kardashian die hards are going to be scoping out eBay for an "indian hat."

Another added, "Wow very disrespectful, especially on #AboriginalDay. Headdresses are earned and not a costume."

It is surprising that Khloe did not learn from Pharrell William's mistake, at the beginning of this month he was forced to apologize after appearing on the front cover of Elle UK's July Issue for wearing a similar native Indian headdress.

Members of the general public, who had a problem with the cover shot, quickly took to Twitter to express how upset they were by using the hashtag "#nothappy," while making negative comments about the 'Blurred Lines' singer's head attire.

"He really needs to hire a head-wear advisor. Native Americans to Pharrell: We're #NotHappy," one user tweeted, with another adding, "Seriously? A whole magazine staff & @pharrell's handlers thought this was a good idea?"

As soon as the backlash began, Pharrell issued an apology by releasing a statement, which read: "I respect and honor every kind of race, background and culture," Pharrell said. "I am genuinely sorry." When will celebrities learn?
