Kendall & Kylie Jenner Anger Press At "Joke" Book Signing
Kendall and Kylie Jenner's recent public appearance at an L.A. book store has angered members of the press. The pair were promoting their new book but did not stay long at the event and refused to answer questions, according to reports.
Update: we have been contacted by a Barnes and Noble representative who claims that Kendall and Kylie Jenner didn't leave early and "signed books for more than 400 customers."
Kendall and Kylie Jenner have written a book together entitled: Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex and Livia. The pair was set to appear at a special book signing and photo call event on Thursday (12th June) at Barnes & Noble in Los Angeles.
Kendall (L) and Kylie (R) have toured other bookstores around the US including Bookends in New Jersey
They did appear, after Kylie took to Twitter to encourage fans to attend the event, but not for long. Most of the awaiting press and photographers were less than impressed with the pair's appearance. No sooner had they appeared at the book store, unenthusiastically signed a few books and posed for mere moments before they were whisked away by security according to reports. The NY Daily News also adds the Barnes & Noble management were concerned by the Jenner sisters' lack of concern for and commitment to the event.
18-year-old Kendall and 16-year-old Kylie, according to the Daily News, also refused to answer questions posed by the gathered press. One person present at the signing said "the whole event was a joke," and warned "this type of diva behaviour will come back to bite them in the ass." The insider further warned the pair and their family are solely reliant on media for their promotion and were effectively alienating themselves from photographers and reporters.
One attendee said it was "unheard of" for celebrities and their managers to create such events and then refuse to participate in front of awaiting media. One attendee said "It is unheard of for celebrities to hold a photo call and then actually not participate in that event. They looked foolish and it reflected very badly on their brand.
Unfortunately for the pair of reality stars, the book has received universally negative reviews. Most customers writing on Amazon have awarded the book, at most one star, and on average the book has received a two out of five star rating.
Appearances on the East Coast have been an improvement on their L.A. event
