Katie Couric's Summer Wedding To John Molner Restores Our Faith In Romance
The happy couple celebrated their love with an intimate summer wedding in the Hamptons.
Congratulations to the newly married Molners. Or would that be Courics? Katie Couric just wed her fiancé, financier John Molner after a ten-month engagement. The wedding took place in the popular New York resort The Hamptons on Saturday, June 21.
Congratulations, Katie Couric and John Molner!
Couric wore a beaded, Chantilly lace Carmen Mac Valvo gown, according to E!News’ detailed recap of the event. The Yahoo Global Anchor and her new husband were married by the couple's friend, John Ellis, in the presence of a select few friends and family. The list reportedly included Couric's daughters Ellie Monahan, 22, and Carrie Monahan, 18; Molner's children, Allie and Henry Molner, as well as the groom's nieces and nephews, who served as ring bearers and flower girls, the rep said.
Couric, 57, had been updating her fans about her big day preparations via her Instagram for weeks. "The garden is ready for the big day one week from today!" she wrote in a photo caption June 14. "Gulp!"
The wedding was attended by a close circle of Couric and Molner's family and friends.
This is Couric’s second marriage, after she lost her first husband, Jay Monahan, to colon cancer in 1998.
“It's actually surprising to me that it has been almost 15 years and I haven't remarried," the widow said in the February 2013 issue of More. "I think life is more fun when you have someone in your life."
