So, Is American Idol's Justin Guarini Living In Poverty or Not?
Justin Guarini is not living in poverty. Got that?
Justin Guarini has elaborated on his emotional open letter in which he claimed to skip meals in order to feed his children. The singer, who finished as runner-up in the first season of American Idol, has criticized the media for its coverage of the note.
"Obviously you completely missed the point of my letter @peoplemag," tweeted the 34-year-old father of two on Friday, "News isn't news anymore, and I'm nowhere near poverty. #twistedmytruth"
In his original letter, Guarini said he spent "days skipping meals in order to make sure I have enough. To make sure my children and my wife have enough." Which is...well, crystal clear. Justin Guarini doesn't have enough money to feed himself.
But, according to the singer, we got it all wrong. Though Guarini confirmed he still had enough dollar to feed himself, he failed to explain why he wrote the letter. Instead he retweeted a message from 'Life Advice,' which read: "Strong people cry sometimes, fall sometimes and feel like giving up sometimes, but what makes them strong is that they keep on going anyway."
Guarini also apologized for his website crashing due to the sheer volume of traffic caused by the story. "My site, and the source of all the fuss, is finally back up. It crashed due to cra-z traffic. See for yourself," he said.
The singer is married to Reina Capodici and the couple have two young sons. He lost out to Kelly Clarkson on American Idol, who went on to become a global star. Oh, and she just splashed $150k on a ring.
