I forgot to mention tt was Jackson who wrote the lyrics. It was Jackson who mapped out the way the song should be sung. Justin Bieber copied Michael Jackson's original verses and chorus, even down to mimicking his singing style, while the producer (Max Methods) updated Tricky Stewarts remix sound. As good as this recent leak is (I like it, though think it includes too much Bieber), neither contributor really brought much to the party. Bieber's fans are giving him too much credit IMO. I mean, how hard can it be to copy somebody else's vocal track and then autotune the bits that don't work well???

Huh? This person knows nothing. The song was first recorded in 1989 so Bieber was NOT supposed to be featured on the track - he wasn't even born yet. Jackson worked on it a number of times over the years. The song originally leaked in 2010 (featuring only MJ vocals), but was a remixed version by Tricky Stewart. The original (late 80s / early 90s version) involved LA Reid and is likely to have had a more urban/R&B feel to the two leaked dance remixes (Bieber's and Tricky's). Max Methods (producer of the Bieber version) has confirmed that the Bieber leak is not the final mix. The Michael Jackson Estate released a statement days ago confirming the leak was NOT authorised.
