NBC's 'The Sound Of Music Live!' aired on December 5th and garnered an impressive number of viewers.

The critics seemed to be split if Carrie Underwood and the rest of her co-stars pulled off a worthy production of the beloved musical.

However, 18.4 million people tuned into watch the live stage production and it earned a 4.6 average rating in the adult demographic.

One person who didn't tune in, is the one person whose verdict everyone wants to here, Julie Andrews.

Andrews, who made the character 'Maria' iconic in the 1965 original film, admitted that she didn't watch the broadcast last Thursday night.

The British actress spoke with USA Today at the US premiere of 'Saving Mr Banks' on Monday night (Dec 9th) and admitted, "Alas, I did not (see it). I had a speaking engagement and I couldn't. But my kids did record it. I'll get around to it."

When the 78 year-old finally gets a chance to watch it, the actors and production team alike will hope for a better reaction than former co-star Kim Karath gave.

During the airing of the live production Karath tweeted, "Must admit some scenes are actually painful to watch." Adding, "Mystified & disappointed so far by SOM special. So far only happy with Stephen Moyer."

However, Andrews had already given her blessing to Underwood to take on the 'Maria' role, "Fifty years later, it's time somebody had another crack at it," Andrews said. "I had the best time of my life doing it, and it did wonderful things for me. I think it's great that it's being done again, but doing it live must be so daunting for Carrie."

Carrie also was pleased with the way things went, after the show she tweeted, "Glory to God tonight...I couldn't be more proud. What a tough thing to pull off and we did it! I am so blessed!!!"
