The marvel movie picks up speed with these new addiTIons
The Ant-Man cast has added three interesting new members in John Slattery, Bobby Cannavale and the rapper, T.I. The movie begun production in San Francisco this week following a tumultuous few months.

The new faces don’t have roles in Marvel’s upcoming superhero comedy franchise builder, but they’re certainly impressive additions. Slattery, in particular, is a coup for the studio – the actor, celebrated for bringing the character of Roger Sterling to life in AMC’s Mad Men, joins the likes of Paul Rudd Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly.

Slattery has also lent his hand to directing recently, but hasn’t enjoyed the same level of success he cultivated when standing on the other side of the camera. Inviting Christina Hendricks – co-star and on-screen love interest on Mad Men, Joan – along for the ride and directing the late Philip Seymour Hoffman in one of his last movies, the critics didn’t quite fall for God’s Pocket.
Carnivale has enjoyed a serious career boost since he burst onto the scene as Gyp Rosetti in Boardwalk Empire, HBO’s period prohibition gangster drama. Since then, a role in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine, which saw Cate Blanchett pick up the Oscar for Best Actress, and a turn in Jon Favreau’s Chef have seen the Queen’s actor go from relative unknown to major player in the space of a few years.

The production for Ant-Man has been troublesome to say the least; Edgar Wright left the project having been pegged to direct for years, allegedly over creative differences between he and Marvel. Many thought perreniel partner on the project, Joe Cornish would step in to direct after his successful debut, Attack The Block, but things didn’t pan out that way. Instead, Peyton Reed stepped in to fill the notable void.
