Even though Joan Rivers tragically passed away last September, the iconic comedienne's legacy is definitely living on as she has been posthumously prized with the Grammy Award for best spoken world album.

Rivers, who died from complications from a botched surgery, was honoured with the award for the audio book recording of her memoir, 'Diary Of A Mad Diva,' which is a narration of her twelfth book - including her own thoughts and opinions on everyday life.

The late comedienne's daughter, Melissa Rivers, attended the 57th annual Grammy Awards to accept the honour. "If my mother were here, she would not only be honored with this award, she would have it copied and on the air on QVC within the hour," joked Melissa during her acceptance speech.

On August 28th, 2014, Rivers was hospitalized for going into cardiac and respiratory arrest after stopping breathing during a minor throat procedure at the clinic. Nearly a week after being placed into a medically induced coma, her grieving family decided to take her off a life support machine on September 4th, she passed away shortly after, aged 81.

To say Rivers slammed a variety of celebrities in her book, she was triumphant in a category full of huge stars including James Franco, Jimmy Carter, John Waters, Elizabeth Warren and Gloria Gaynor.

Kathy Griffin, who replaced Rivers as a co-host on E!'s 'Fashion Police' show, also congratulated the late star by tweeting, "YES!!," along with the Grammy's official announcement of Rivers' win.
