Jennifer Lawrence - September Issue Of Vogue Sees Jennifer Lawrence Dishing On Popularity, Paparazzi And Public Image

Could Jennifer Lawrense get any more endearing and/or awesome? Maybe that question is ever so slightly biased, but if you answered “no”, then you obviously have not seen Lawrence on the September cover of Vogue, or read the accompanying interview for that matter.

Who doesn't love a bit of genuine awkwardness?

Yes, the actress looks stunning, but there are plenty of pretty faces around Hollywood. What’s special about Lawrence’s public persona is that she manages to unite the actress package with a likeable character and the kind of awkwardness most of us non-millionaires can relate too. The fact that she’s a talented actress doesn’t hurt, of course. For Vogue, Lawrence recounted some of her earlier experiences with the red carpet life and explained how that helped her get into character for The Hunger Games and its upcoming sequel, Catching Fire.

In the interview, Lawrence spills the beans of fame, fortune and the drawbacks of the whole thing.

“When Winter’s Bone was getting nominated. I had only done indies, and suddenly I was introduced to this brand-new world where I didn’t feel like myself. I was in these weird gowns and listening to people talk about things I didn’t understand,” Lawrence explains in the interview. “And I remember reading that in the book and being like, Oh, my God, I know exactly what this feels like. I don’t know what it’s like to get ready for your death, but I do know what it’s like to be almost a puppet. And then when I was making the second film, I had become more acquainted with that world, and I think that’s something that Katniss experiences. She is different when she comes back. She does feel more comfortable in the Capitol; she understands the people more, and it’s not as eerie and scary and unfamiliar. She kind of knows how to work the system.”

The September issue of Vogue, featuring the interview will be out on August 20, while The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theatres on November 22 (November 21 in the UK.)
