Jennifer Lawrence Believes It Is "Disgusting" That "Young Sex Sells"

Jennifer Lawrence is firmly voicing her disapproval with Hollywood's criticisms of a female's body in recent weeks.

The 23 year-old is very switched on in how the entertainment industry promotes a certain body type.

In an interview with BBC Newsnight's Zoe Conway, Lawrence opens up about how show business, in general, exploits women, especially young stars like pop singer, Miley Cyrus.

The 'Silver Linings Playbook' actress expressed her disapproval "I don't really worry about it. It's definitely something that's just kind of a part of this world, it is a part of the entertainment industry that sells.

She added, "Sex sells, and for some disgusting reason young sex sells even more."

"It's not really something that I worry about because I feel like everybody's kind of got their own path," Lawrence consciously avoided mentioning Miley's name, who is the ex-fiancée to her 'The Hunger Games' co-star Liam Hemsworth.

"They have their own way of finding themselves and for some people that's how they feel best, that's how they feel sexy, that's how they want to perform," she continued.

When Conway referenced Miley twerking with a dwarf, referring to her 2013 MTV EMA performance, Lawrence laughingly responded, "I am just saying to each their own."

However, J-Law did get serious when she insists in making "conscious decision" to try and be a role model for her younger audience. "Growing up I didn't have a female hero the way that Katniss is," she said, referring to her 'The Hunger Games,' character.

"I think she's a wonderful role model for young girls. I'm happy that they have a character like that."

'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,' hits theatres November 22nd 2013.
