Jared Leto Suggests Jennifer Lawrence Is Fake: Did He Say What We're All Thinking?
The falling, the self-deprecation, the goofiness: could it all be to win more column inches?
Jared Leto has caused shock after he suggested that the typically goofy personality of actress Jennifer Lawrence might all be an act designed to create publicity and warm the public to her. The 42 year-old Dallas Buyers Club star was asked by Access Hollywood what he thought of Jennifer's Oscars stumble (her second to date) to which he replied "You know, I'm starting to wonder if this is a bit of an act."
Jared Leto Has Implied That Jennifer Lawrence's Fall Was Fake.
He described the scene where she gingerly climbed the stage to present the award for Best Actor at the ceremony last Sunday whilst Ellen DeGeneres mimed behind her back: "Why are you laughing? What, is this funny? I'm still watching you!" said Lawrence as she tried not to trip for a third time. Jared explained: "But what [J-Law] didn't know was that Ellen was on the side.making, pantomiming 'don't fall, don't fall!' - and my mom and brother are all cracking up."
"I guess we don't have manners. You can take them out of Louisiana, but you can't take the Louisiana out of them, right?" the actor joked. The reaction to Leto's words has attracted derision from fans of the Hunger Games actress who believe she can do no wrong.
Perhaps it's just a symptom of the Hollywood strove for perfection that Lawrence's industry peers don't believe that such a successful and well-liked actress can have an organic personality without having been crafted by a team of PR experts. Had Lawrence not proved her legitimate talent for acting by winning last year's Lead Actress, it would be easier to side with Leto's suggestion that she needed to fill column inches with inane, klutzy behaviour.
As it is, Lawrence is one of the most versatile and talented actresses of her generation who openly stands strong against the Hollywood pressure to be thin and demure. Actors who work with the Silver Linings Playbook star praise how easy and fun she is to work with and she doesn't appear to genuinely seek press attention or cause a stir.
Jared Leto's Not The Only Movie Star Who Knows How To Have A Good Time!
Lawrence stands out because she rejects the image of women forced upon actresses working in Hollywood and should be hailed as a trail-blazer rather than whispered to be a fake. She may be the one of the only "real" actresses there is.
