Jack White Offers Apology To Black Keys, Amy Winehouse, Adele And Many Others

Jack White seems to be regretting criticisms he made to other singers in the current Rolling Stone cover story.

The 38 year-old musician insulted The Black Keys, a whole list of female performers and stated that if Amy Winehouse was alive then Adele wouldn't have been as successful.

But White has now posted an open letter on his official website to try and clarify what he actually meant by these controversial comments.

The former 'White Stripes' singer was so harsh after he "felt forced" to talk about his "very private opinions," because of "the actions of lawyers trying to villainize me in a private legal scenario, my private letters were made public for reasons I still don't understand."

During White's divorce from ex-wife Karen Elson, private emails were leaked that showed him slamming The Black Keys because they apparently ripped him off.

But in the new statement, the guitarist wishes the band "all the success that they can get," and "massive success also for their producer and songwriter Danger Mouse and for the other musicians that their band employs."

White then offered an apology to artists who he blasted when explaining how "certain acts open up a market for a certain style." He didn't want to give the music magazine a "no comment" answer because it would be petty.

"I wish no slight to the talents of Winehouse, Duffy, Lana del Rey, and Adele," he explained. "All of whom are wonderful performers with amazing voices. I have their records and I hope for more success for them all as the years go on. They deserve all they've gotten. And, I also would love to state that I personally find it inspiring to have powerful, positive female voices speaking out and creating at all times in the mainstream, and all of those singers do just that, so I thank them."

The letter Concluded: "So, God bless the Black Keys, Danger Mouse, Adele, Meg White, and anyone else I've spoken about, and thank you for understanding. Good fortune to all of them, and I'm sorry for my statements hurting anyone."
