It seems a new Rihanna album could be on its way sooner than expected, after producer DJ Skee revealed the singer has recorded ten songs for a new record which could even arrive before the end of the year.

RihannaCould Rihanna have a new record up her sleeve?

“That project is a lot closer than anyone realised, including her own record label,” The Source reports Skee as saying. “She’s trying to put out a project to capitalise off the fourth quarter.”

Skee also revealed that one track, which could potentially be a single was titled 'I’ve Been Searching for Something to Ignite Me When I’m Alone’. The DJ also said that the singer premiered the 10 tracks to Def Jam label executives at a top secret location last weekend in New York City.

Rihanna’s last release was Unapologetic in 2012, which went on to sell over 3 million copies worldwide. Prior to 20012 the singer had released a new album every November since 2009.

But one thing we do know for sure is that Calvin Harris won’t be making an appearance on the new record. Harris had previously collaborated with the singer on 2011 smash hit ‘We Found Love’, but says he will not feature on the singer’s next album. "No, I'm not on the Rihanna album," Harris told The Sun earlier this month.

"I did a few things for it, but they don't get back to you, there are a lot of people involved.” Harris then went on to say that the singer has a “strong idea” about the album’s direction. "She listens to everything, I know that, but she's got a strong idea and identity and an idea of what her album should sound like,” he said.
