Taylor Swift recently opened up about the track 'Bad Blood,' from her fifth studio album '1989,' and revealed that a unknown "enemy" celebrity was the inspiration behind it. Although the 24 year-old singer didn't name this individual, many believe it could be fellow singer Katy Perry.

In a very candid interview with Rolling Stone, Swift recalled how her hatred for this person began last year at an award show ceremony, where she realized they were "straight-up enemies."

"She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?' [Then] she did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy!" she explained.

But now a cryptic tweet posted by Katy Perry shortly after the interview was published, which is also aimed at an unknown individual, has led many to believe Swift was referring to the 'Dark Horse' singer. "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing..." Perry tweeted, which has led many social media users to think the 'Mean Girls' reference is directed towards Swift.

As it is not definite if the 29 year-old songstress is the person being talked about in 'Bad Blood,' fans can only speculate where this animosity towards each other has come from. One explanation may be that both singers dated John Mayer, but each ended their relationships with him very differently.

Perry's romance with the solo artist lasted for two years, whereas Mayer publically slammed Swift which led to her to release a bitter song about him called 'Dear John.'

But the 'Red' hit maker insisted their feud began after some sly business tactics were attempted to be carried out.

"It had to do with business," Swift told Rolling Stone. "She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational - you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it."
