The aftermath of this year's Grammy Awards on Sunday was filled with talk about Beyoncé and Jay Z's sexually-charged 'Drunk In Love' performance, Madonna's mass marriage, Taylor Swift's surprised face and the rock-tastic finale show. However, as the dust has died down, one performance in particular stands out for its explosive mash-up and unique collaboration.

Imagine Dragons' Grammys Performance With Kendrick Lamar Has Been Heralded As A Highlight.

Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar performed a hybrid version of the former's hit 'Radioactive' and the latter's 'MAAD City' to considerable critical acclaim. Not only did the two songs mesh extremely well together but the rock band and the rapper brought a show to the Grammys that will be talked about for months to come.

LL Cool J introduced the performers, who were clad all in white with huge matching white drums and plenty of spine-tinglingly atmospheric smoke pouring from the stage. Amidst the thick white plumes, Imagine Dragons singer Dan Reynolds offered up a verse of the band's hit single before Kendrick arrived to rap his section of 'MAAD City,' announcing his arrival with the track's distinctive 'yak yak yak!' intro.

The cool shades of stage lighting turned to red in a flash as everyone in stage started headbanging in time with the music. The crowd was whipped into a screaming frenzy as Kendrick started to spit lyrics as the band bopped around him. As Kendrick tore through the track, powder bombs went off all around him and Reynolds joined back in, singing a melodic accompaniment to Lamar's verse.

On several occasions during the live feed, the camera cut away to show the Grammy's most famous empty-handed attendee Taylor Swift jigging to the music on the front row whilst doing the "rap hands" dance move to the synthesised strings and hardcore hiphop beat. Even Beyoncé and Jay Z, who had opened the show, looked visibly impressed as they too joined in the dancing.

Imagine Dragons were rewarded for their efforts with a Grammy for Best Rock Performance for the chart-dominating hit 'Radioactive' whilst Macklemore, who won the Best Rap Album prize, admitted that he'd stolen the award from Lamar after his rise to worldwide precedence over the past 12 months. "You got robbed. I wanted you to win," Macklemore texted Lamar. "You should have. It's weird and sucks that I robbed you. I was gonna say that during the speech. Then the music started playing during my speech and I froze," via The Independent.

Macklemore
Macklemore Said He Felt Like He'd Robbed Kendrick Lamar Of A Grammy.

After triumphing against the heavy-weight rock competition of Jack White, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Queens of the Stone Age and Alabama Shakes, Imagine Dragons admitted that they were humbled by their success. "We've been a band for five years, and for four of those we played small clubs across the U.S. So I feel a lot of mixed emotions," said Reynolds, via the LA Times, adding "All those bands to us are the greatest rock musicians ever, and we've learned so much from them."

"But we'll take the Grammy."

I like Maclemore a lot (Can't hold us was my hype up song for like 2 months when working out). While Macklemore had a great album, having him sweep the hip hop categories was ridiculous considering the amount of talent and material that was pumping out from other artists this past year. Neither Macklemore nor Ryan Lewis should feel bad about the win...it wasn't their fault they were chosen for every category, plus they put in work to put out a successful album. But Macklemore himself knows which awards he deserved and which ones he did not. The grammy's made itself look bad once again with it's selections. Kendrick will get his proper due because he has skills. People can only turn a blind eye for so long to someone who constantly puts out incredible work. The Imagine Dragons and Kendrick gave an outstanding performance. I love both groups by themselves and I loved the mash up and the energy they all had.

It was an outstanding performance by Imagine Dragons and Kendrick. I definitely thought Kendrick should've taken home a grammy for something in the rap/hip-hop department. It's funny though, you watch the BET awards...Kendrick wins best male hip hop artist, best new artist, over other hip hops dynamos and gets passed at the grammy's. Who in the world voted for this category?!?!?! Maclemore definitely deserved an award/s...but not all of them.
