'If I Stay' is likely to beat Sin City 2 in a dismal box office weekend.
Warner Bros' young-adult adaptation If I Stay, with Chloe-Grace Moretz, was the best of a bad bunch at the box-office on Friday taking around $6.7 million. The movie is tracking below expectations for an overall weekend of $16 million. As Deadline puts it, "No one cares about the new offerings and Sin City 2 is a total bomb in a weekend where all the newcomers are crashing."

Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For only took around $6 million on Friday, despite a hefty budget of $70 million (not counting marketing and distribution costs).
Sin City 2 even fell behind the sports biopic When The Games Stands Tall, which scrambled to around $8 million
All this despair means that one of the box office 'veterans'- Guardians of the Galaxy or Turtles will take the top spot again - probably the former with around $17 million. All in all, it's going to be a pitiful, weak weekend at the box-office.
More: could 'If I Stay' beat 'Sin City 2'?
'If I Stay' focuses on Mia Hall (Moretz) who assumed the hardest decision she would have to face would be whether to pursue her musical dreams at Julliard or follow a different path in life to be with the love of her life. However, when an innocent family drive changes everything and her own life hangs in the balance, Mia has only one decision to make.
More: well done guys, now they're making a Turtles sequel
"If I Stay" shuttles between lachrymose developments at the hospital and a series of flashbacks that detail the Mia-Adam relationship. Not surprisingly, the romance is where you want to be," said Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times.
"If I Stay's blend of teen romance and supernatural melodrama doesn't break the YA mold, but it's a decent addition to the genre nonetheless," said Sandy Schaefer of Screenrant.com
