Poor Wolverine – not only is Marvel’s mot infamous mutant getting killed off in the comic books, now it looks like Hugh Jackman is done with him as well. Apparently the Aussie actor is almost finished playing his iconic steel-clawed character. We’re due to see Logan aka Wolverine in at least one more film – the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. After that, the character may or may not reappear in another solo film from James Mangold, the helmer behind last year’s The Wolverine. The 2013 movie didn’t do too well in terms of reviews, but with just under $415 million in worldwide profits, there’s enough incentive for 20th Century Fox to get behind a sequel.

Hugh Jackman, X-Men: Days of Future Past Still
It's almost the end of the line for our tortured hero.

Jackman on the other hand, seems to be at the end of his rope. “I’m excited to see what we can come up with, but I haven’t signed on signed on,” the actor told SFX Magazine. “I’m genuinely at that point where unless it’s better than the last one I’m not going to do it.”

Apparently Jackman is only willing to do another Wolverine, if its on his own terms. And hardcore X-Men fans should agree that his terms would be good for the story in general. “I can still see where we can improve on the last one,” he said. “I don’t want to get into specifics, because it just upsets people, but there are certain parts of that story where I felt we were predictable. And I don’t think you need to do that with Wolverine.”
