Hugh Jackman Joined The Obamas To Celebrate 'Christmas In Washington' Concert

The Obamas were getting into the Christmas spirit on Sunday night (Dec 15th) as they attended the 32nd annual holiday concert 'Christmas In Washington'.

The concert, which is aimed to benefit the Children's National Medical Center, was hosted by 'X-Men' star Hugh Jackman.

The concert boosted musical performers such as Backstreet Boys, who played their holiday hits 'Christmas Time' and 'It's Christmas Time Again', Cheryl Crow, Janelle Monae and actress Anna Kendrick, (via USA TODAY).

NBA Hall of Famer and TNT'S 'Inside The NBA' analyst Charles Barkley also made a special guest appearance at the benefit show.

Jackman began the festive event by citing that "Christmas is a "time for warmth of family and friends," before jokingly presenting The Obamas with a present.

The 'Prisoners' actor couldn't decide what would suit them so he settled with a "gift that speaks to the true meaning of Christmas: a box set of all seven X-Men and Wolverine movies."

President Obama was equally hilarious when addressing Hugh, "I want to thank our host Hugh Jackman for keeping our safety in mind by leaving Wolverine's claws at home," he quipped.

Adding, "It can't be easy to wrap presents with those things; good for carving up roast beast though."

Kendrick performed her own rendition of 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas', whereas Monahan sang 'Merry Christmas Baby' and Crow belted out the classic, 'Please Come Home for Christmas'.

The show ended in the usual manner with The Obamas, the guest stars and the audience joining to sing 'Hark! The Herald Angels Sing'.

'Christmas in Washington' is scheduled to air as a special at 8pm ET on Dec 20th on TNT.
